Research update · 28 October 2026
What does Eloralintide do?
Eloralintide (LY3841136) is an investigational selective amylin-receptor agonist developed by Lilly. It is designed to act on the AMY1 receptor, a pathway involved in fullness and food intake. Researchers are studying whether this can reduce appetite and body weight. Its primary target differs from the GLP-1/GIP pathways targeted by tirzepatide.
What did the Phase 2 study find?
A 48-week, placebo-controlled study enrolled 263 adults with obesity, or overweight with a related condition, without type 2 diabetes. Mean weight reduction across the eloralintide groups ranged from 9.5% to 20.1%, compared with 0.4% for placebo, using the efficacy estimand. That analysis estimates outcomes if participants remained on treatment. Common adverse events included gastrointestinal symptoms and fatigue. These are study findings, not promised results for a catalogue product.
Where is it in clinical trials?
Eloralintide has completed Phase 1 and Phase 2 studies and is now in Phase 3 development. ENLIGHTEN-1 (NCT07321886) is enrolling adults with obesity or overweight without type 2 diabetes, with a target of 1,980 participants. Its main and extension phases are listed through July 2030; this is a study timeline, not an approval or launch date.
It remains investigational. This coming-soon listing does not mean it has regulatory approval or that these pen and vial formats are equivalent to Lilly’s clinical-trial material. No price or release date has been announced here.
